Macro Diamond in Dogma Pipe Drill Core
February 28, 2004--Mr. Nick Pedafronimos of Oasis Diamond reports, MACRO DIAMOND IN DOGMA PIPE DRILLCORE
Oasis Diamond Exploration Inc (CSI: TSX-V) and its joint venture partner Arctic Star Diamond Corp (ADD:TSX-V) have received results from drillcore samples from holes # 14 and # 16 from the Dogma zone on the Company's Wawa diamond project. C.F. Minerals analyzed 80.4 kilograms of rock core from 0-23 meters in hole #14 returning one broken stone of 760 by 460 by 141 microns. Examination of the diamond suggests that the stone was broken in the drilling process. Selected core samples from hole 16, from three, 4.5 meter sections, approximately 95 to 108.5 meters depth did not contain diamonds. One 4.5 meter sample from hole # 16 at approximate depth of 90.5 meters to 95 meters contained one microdiamond. All samples were taken from the previously reported diamond drilling of the Dogma pipe structure.
The recovery of diamonds from 2 inch drillcore is very rare, it is also significant the diamond recovered from the upper 23 meters of the pipe was probably of commercial or near-commercial size (0.8 mm) prior to breakage.
